About

-Our Farm-

Officially started in 2017, Brown Family Farms uses sustainable, natural practices to grow great food. The homestead lies on approximately 9 acres of land nestled amongst the rolling hills between Crystal Lake and Woden, Iowa. Our farm family, other than the six humans, includes: Charlotte, a Jersey/Limousin heifer; Blair, our extra-fluffy polydactyl cat; Harlee, our Australian Shepherd mutt; approximately 15 assorted breed laying hens; and 3 roosters.

-Our Family-

Myla Brown, alongside her husband Shaun, runs all operations. Our children Noah, Ridley, Charlie, and Gabe are all beginning to learn the ropes, and are of great assistance (when they put their minds to it, haha!).

-Our Practices-

Some have used the term “beyond organic” to describe the agricultural practices we use. We do not believe in spraying our land with any chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, and the like, organic or not). Our animals all free-range on pasture, with supplemental feed as needed.

-Our Vision-

Currently, we provide a variety of vegetables, Maple Syrup, free-range, pasture-raised chickens, eggs, and baked goods. Our hope is to expand our farm to provide a wide array of local, high-quality products for our family and our community. Our short-term goals include adding pasture-raised pork, ducks, jams, and knit and crochet creations to our line-up of products. Down the road, we also hope to offer items such as comb honey, smoked cheeses, and hand-spun wool yarn. We strive to have complete customer satisfaction. If you are dissatisfied with a purchase for quality issues, contact us, and we will work with you to find a solution.
