Another Awesome Farmers Market in Clear Lake 7/20/2024

Enjoy the most awesome farmers market in Clear Lake, Iowa!

After you attend the Purple Ribbon General Store, be sure to stop by the Clear Lake Farmers Market on July 20th, 2024 from 9:00 AM to NOON in the parking lot of the Surf Ballroom & Museum. When you visit, you’ll be able to find fresh sourdough (that’s us!), maple syrup (also us!), eggs, cheese curds, -pretty much everything you’d need to make the best breakfast sandwich to start your day. There’ll also be fresh peaches, cold-brew coffee, intricately designed serving boards, and more available from 50+ vendors, along with live music and kids activities!

This list only states what we know we’re bringing for sure (we say “for sure” with the assumption that nothing crazy will happen, like, well, we don’t know -they’re called unforeseen circumstances for a reason 🤪). While writing this, we’re still deciding which other flavor pies we’ll have with us, but other than that, we’re pretty sure this is everything we’re bringing. Finally, a jam restock!

Toward the end of the farmers market season last year, we decided to try our hand at bringing jams for sale. Thanks to you, the result of our little test has completely blown us away. We were soooo unprepared for the incredible support and love you’ve shown since we added this! Because you’ve loved the jam so much though, we didn’t make enough available, and we’re finally fixing that! We’re restocked on the beloved Strawberry Rhubarb jam we had earlier this year, and we’re bringing back our original Strawberry flavor, and we’re bringing a we’re obliging all the requests we’ve had for a straight-up Rhubarb jam. You’re welcome, and we love you. 😉

Assume the weather will make for an awesome farmers market

Back in June, we had two weeks with big threats of rain, and this week’s forecast is not looking nearly as bad as then! There’s nothing like hanging out at the farmers market on a beautiful sunny and 75 degree day. As one of the aaaa-maz-ing people who visits us at the Clear Lake Farmers Market, we want to remind you that rain or shine, we’ll be there this week (but it’ll definitely be shining)! All the bread dough is mixed and rising, and we’re heading toward the weekend. We’re coming on Saturday prepared with all our usual delicious artisan breads and our fantastic specialty jams. As long as you keep coming, we’ll keep bringing all the good stuff! So, we’ll see ya there, right?!😄

We’re on the south side of the market now

Still more people found us at the market last week for the first time since we moved! It’s fun to catch up with everyone this summer. This is your regularly scheduled, friendly reminder that we’re in a new spot. Traditionally, our booth has been next to the sidewalk and near the music (the north-east side) -we aren’t in that spot anymore! Instead, you’ll find us on the other end of the market, at the far side, away from the music (the south side). If you need a map to visualize and see this change, there’s one linked at the end of this post. Note: Only our booth within the market is moving- the Clear Lake Farmers Market, this week and all season, is still in the Surf Ballroom parking lot.

There is still road construction (so sorry!)

We’ve had a wonderful couple month inside the Clear Lake Farmers Market! Thank you for being patient and flexible with the road construction around the Surf Ballroom. The farmers market is continuing to keep an eye on where construction is each week and making adjustments as necessary. The layout will be the same as past weeks, and nothing will change about your shopping experience. Road work is no fun to drive around, but on the bright side, the market isn’t cancelled!

We get it- it’s easy to fill your summer schedule and forget that farmers markets are in season. But, don’t let that stop you from coming -it’s the perfect opportunity to buy that one pie you eyeball all the time, but never actually get. Or those decadent caramel pecan rolls. Or that loaf of focaccia that smells heavenly. Honestly, it’s crazy the number of times we hear folks say “I might circle back around to get that,” and when they inevitably do come back to our booth, that item they wanted is gone. Friendly reminder: you’re allowed to treat yourself to delicious food on the first walk through. 😄

We’re so excited for all the things happening this summer (including the opening of a store we’ve partnered with), and we hope you’ll join us in the excitement at the Clear Lake Farmers Market this weekend. We’ll be in the Surf Ballroom parking lot from 9 AM until noon. The Clear Lake Farmers Market is the largest producer-only market in North Iowa and it’s definitely worth a stop.  Feel free to put it in your calendar, and we’ll see you there!
