Update

August Farmers Markets Start 8/3/2024

August farmers markets bring new goods to choose from!

As you marvel and wonder how we’re in August already, join us at the Farmers Market in Clear Lake on August 3rd, 2024 from 9:00 AM to NOON in the parking lot of the Surf Ballroom & Museum. If you’re still looking to eek out the last summer-y goodness, we’ll have vendors offering everything you need for your weekend grill-out. When you visit, you’ll be able to find Jalapeño Cheddar focaccia bread(that’s us!), meat, seasoning, cheese, crisp lettuce, crunchy pickles -everything you’d need for the best burgers. There’ll also be intricate woodwork, cold-brew coffee, freeze-dried candies, and more available from 50+ vendors, along with live music and kids activities!

Here’s what we’re bringing*:

Breads

Scones

Pies

Jams

Additional Food Items

*List subject to change

This list only states what we know we’re bringing for sure (we say “for sure” with the assumption that nothing crazy will happen, like flooded roads, epic tornados, or the appearance of the four horsemen 🤪). Although, I guess we can’t say too much about tornados stopping us. We did vend at the Mason City Farmers Market during a tornado watch all the way until the sirens started blaring in town… but, that’s another story. While writing this, we’re pretty sure this is everything we’re bringing. If you have any specific requests, call us! Our number is on our ‘Contact’ page.

August weather = roasty toasty farmers market

In true August farmers market fashion, this weekend looks like it’ll end up being a hot one. Come early, and don’t overheat! After 11 AM, foot traffic at the farmers market really drops off as the parking lot heats up, and everyone who wants something specific knows that it’s cooler earlier in the day. Coming earlier is also easier on your dogs, so then you don’t have to worry about your puppy’s paws on the pavement. We’re coming on Saturday prepared with all our usual delicious artisan breads and our fantastic specialty jams. And as long as you’re willing to bear the heat with us, we’ll keep bringing all the good stuff! So, we’ll see ya there, right?!😄

Don’t come too late

Because of typical August high temps, don’t come too late! If you come in during the last few minutes of market, you’ll likely run out of time (and patience) to see everything. And, you’ll definitely want a chance to check out the new jam flavors that Shaun has been cranking out. We know your kids get cranky in the heat, and we want you to be able to enjoy your time at the farmers market. If you know you want something, but don’t want to be at the market very long, call us! Our number is on our ‘Contact’ page. Note: the phone number is a landline and cannot receive text messages.

Heads up: road construction

We’ve had a great few months inside the Clear Lake Farmers Market! Thank you for being patient and flexible with the road construction around the Surf Ballroom -you’re the best!

Enjoy your weekend at the farmers market

The start of August means that summer is starting to wrap up, but farmers markets are still in season. So, while you’ve still got time, it’s the perfect opportunity to buy that one pie you eyeball all the time, but never actually get. Or those caramel pecan rolls. Or that garlic herb focaccia bread. Honestly, the number of times we’ve seen someone make a comment like “That one looks good to me, but get whatever you and the kids will eat, babe” is incredible! So, why not treat your incredible self to that delicious food you’ve been craving. We’re in a new spot on the south side of the market, right next to the Surf Ballroom, and we’re still providing the delicious farmers market foods you know and love. 🙂

Start August at the Farmers Market in Clear Lake!

So many awesome things have happened this summer (including the grand opening of a store we’ve partnered with), and we hope seize the opportunity to visit the Clear Lake Farmers Market this August. We’ll be in the Surf Ballroom parking lot from 9 AM until noon. The Clear Lake Farmers Market is the largest producer-only market in North Iowa and it’s definitely worth a stop.  Set up a reminder in a place you’ll see it, and we’ll see you there!

As promised, here’s the link for the interactive map so you can find all your favorite vendors at the market this year: http://www.clearlakefarmersmarket.com/for-customers/ We know you’ll find your way around, and we can’t wait to see you Saturday!
