Celebrate Independence Day weekend at the farmers market!

It’s Independence Day weekend at the Clear Lake Farmers Market! After you check out the Purple Ribbon General Store on Friday, be sure to stop by the market on July 6th, 2024 from 9:00 AM to NOON in the parking lot of the Surf Ballroom & Museum. When you visit, you’ll be able to find fresh cinnamon swirl bread (that’s us!), maple syrup (also us!), eggs, vanilla, and bacon -everything you’d need to make the most decadent French toast breakfast to end your day (anyone else breakfast-for-supper type people?). There’ll also be juicy peaches, fresh-ground coffee, pottery, and more available from 50+ vendors, along with live music and kids activities!

This list only states what we know we’re bringing for sure (we say “for sure” with the assumption that nothing crazy will happen, like getting squished by a Thwomp, being eaten by a Piranha Plant, or falling off Rainbow Road🤪). While writing this, we’re still deciding which other flavor pies we’ll have with us, but other than that, we’re pretty sure this is everything we’re bringing. Rain, rain go away during this farmers market

This season, we’ve had beautiful markets even when there were big threats of rain. We’re running on the assumption that this market will be no different! There might be a chance of rain, but we think it will continue to miss the Clear Lake Farmers Market area -perfect since everyone wants to celebrate Independence Day this weekend. And, rain or shine, just know that we’ll be there this week (but it’ll definitely be shining)! We’re coming on Saturday prepared with all our usual delicious artisan breads and our fantastic specialty jams. So, we’ll see ya there, right?!😄

We’re on the south side of the market

For the first time this farmers market season, since we moved, we didn’t have anyone tell us they didn’t know we were in a new spot! …Just kidding. Although it may seem obvious by now if you’ve already visited us a few times this year, we still have friends who think we stopped coming to Clear Lake. This is your weekly, friendly reminder that we’re in a new spot!

Now it’s just an old place that you used to go

🎵Some-wh-ere.. That you used to go…🎵 Gotye, anyone? Just me? That’s ok. Traditionally, our booth has been next to the sidewalk and near the music (the north-east side) -we aren’t in that spot anymore! Instead, you’ll find us on the other end of the market, at the far side, away from the music (the south side). If you need a map to visualize and see this change, there’s one linked at the end of this post. Note: Only our booth within the market is moving- the Clear Lake Farmers Market, this week and all season, is still in the Surf Ballroom parking lot.

Road construction is ongoing

Thank you for being patient and flexible with the road construction around the Surf Ballroom. The farmers market is continuing to keep an eye on where construction is each week and making background adjustments as necessary. The whole market will continue to be shifted 18 feet west (further away from the sidewalk). The layout will basically be the same as past weeks, other than the new vendors who pop in and out each week. Road work is no fun to drive around, but on the upside, it’s Independence Day weekend, and the market isn’t cancelled!

Savor Independence Day with farmers market friends

We totally get it- it’s easy to fill your Fourth of July schedule and bump farmers markets down your list of local events. But, don’t let that stop you from coming -it’s the perfect opportunity to buy that one scone you eyeball all the time, but never actually get. Or those delectable pies. Or that Italian seasoning that smells irrisistable. Honestly, it’s crazy the number of times we hear folks say “I might circle back around to get that,” and when they inevitably do come back to our booth, that item they wanted is gone. Friendly reminder: you’re allowed to treat yourself to delicious food on the first walk through. 😄

Join us for a celebratory weekend at the Clear Lake Farmers Market!

We’re so excited for all the fun experiences happening this weekend (including the opening of a store we’ve partnered with), and we hope you’ll join us in the excitement this Saturday at the Clear Lake Farmers Market. We’ll be in the Surf Ballroom parking lot from 9 AM until noon. The mission of Clear Lake Farmers Market is to offer healthy fresh produce and hand crafted products to consumers while building community connections and supporting the local economy, and it’s definitely worth a stop.  Feel free to put it in your calendar, and we’ll see you there!
