We have SOURDOUGH! Sound the alarms!

Bread lovers rejoice! If you get excited when we have our full lineup of bread options, then this is the week to join us at the Clear Lake Farmers Market. We’ll be there on September 14th, 2024 from 9:00 AM to NOON in the parking lot of the Surf Ballroom & Museum. If you were upset last week that we didn’t have focaccia, stop by on Saturday and let us make it right -we have sourdough, too! When you visit, you’ll also be able to find a variety of fresh, crisp produce, flavorful jams (that’s us!), cheese, cute dish towels, lemonade, and more will be available from 50+ vendors, along with live music and kids activities!

This list only states what we know we’re bringing for sure (we say “for sure” with the assumption that nothing crazy will happen, like getting stuck in traffic behind a tractor, or the migrating murmurations flying away with our bread, or the Iowa State Cyclones beating the Iowa Hawkeyes -oh wait! 🤪) While writing this, we’re still figuring out what other pie flavors we’re bringing (as usual). All the (sourdough) restockage!

If you’re one of the small but mighty crew that actually looks through the list of items we plan to bring every week (thank you!!), then you saw that this week’s list is definitely longer than last week. And it’s not just the bread. (Although it is a big deal that we have sourdough back. And focaccia. And caramel rolls. All the bread, really.) There’s also a few key jams that are coming back to our table.

Pepper heads, say what

We’ve got strawberry jalapeño jam! We’ve got raspberry jalapeño jam. We’ve got straight up jalapeño jam! We’ve got sourdough jam – wait what!? No, that last one’s not quite right. But, our pepper jams do make some fun combinations with our sourdough. Which we also have this week. 😉

So we have sourdough…

Yep. That’s right. All our normal yeast-risen breads are back again. We have cinnamon swirl. We have focaccia. We have cranberry wild rice, and 9 grain, and cinnamon raisin. We have sourdough loaves, and batards, and baguettes. We’re bringing it all back, for you!

…but is the mixer fixed?

Nope. Not yet, anyway. We are members of Healthy Harvest, and we are so thankful to them for helping save our butts this week. They’ve given us a mixer to use until we get ours fixed, and Shaun immediately put it to work. However, a couple hours before I started writing up this post (early Thursday morning), the new gear our mixer needs came in the mail, and Shaun is excited to get ours up and running. He’s hoping to get our mixer fixed by the end of today. We shall see!

We have sourdough back at the farmers market this weekend!

We have our full selection of breads with us this week. It’s the best time to come and visit our booth! You can find us at the Clear Lake Farmers Market this weekend in the Surf Ballroom parking lot from 9 AM until noon. The Clear Lake Farmers Market is the largest producer-only market (which means no resellers) in North Iowa and it’s definitely worth a stop. Set up a reminder in a place you’ll see it, and we’ll see you there!
